UnitPad
By Structona
Engineering notepad with unit-aware formulas.
A light sheet for the browser and the desktop. Write compact math, see results as you type, and export a readable report without laying it out by hand.
The problem
The math should stay on the page.
-
Grids hide the formula
A cell stores a number. The formula, the units, and the reason sit somewhere else, and the report is a second document.
-
Heavy suites bury the sheet
The math is capable, and wrapped in a large environment. A free edition is often stripped. A short calc still means opening that suite.
What you get
A light sheet that calculates and reports.
-
Browser and desktop
The same light sheet in the browser or as a desktop app. The file stays on the device.
-
Compact math
Markdown-style lines. A new calculation is short text you can write, copy, and reuse.
-
Results as you type
Edit a line and the lines below update. The value stays on the same row. A bad dimension is an error, not a quiet wrong number.
-
A report from the sheet
Headings, formulas, and results become a PDF. A draft does not need a separate layout pass.
-
Quick to edit and reuse
Move, add, and rewrite lines without rebuilding the document. Example sheets cover common calculations.
-
A full calculation engine
Functions, conditionals, vectors, plots, tables, derivatives, and integrals, in the same notepad.
The platform
More time for the complex problem.
Structona is a research and development platform for structural engineering and AI. It returns the engineer’s time to analysis, member verification, detailing, and the decisions that run through the rest of the design. The calculation, the review, and the judgment stay with the engineer.
The work looks for a method that stays accurate in professional use, then turns that method into a tool. UnitPad is the first. The posts are the record of how the platform gets there.
Open it in the browser. The desktop app is the same sheet.
